This piece was created for my “How to Turn Trash Into Art | Upcycled mixed media portraits” video. The thrifted landscape painting was layered with a printed vintage portrait, old perspective sketches I made in high school, a rescued calendar poster, and pages from a thrifted book on mechanical drawing. The subject stares off into that beautiful place between thinking and dreaming - where subconscious, spontaneous thought runs freely, and everything feels possible.
